Evil Dead Rise will be directed by Lee Cronin, who is best known for his 2013 movie Ghost Train, and worry not because the movie will be produced by none other than Sam Raimi, who has been attached to this franchise for a while now.

It has been nearly a decade since the last Evil Dead movie, and fans have been desperately waiting for the new installment because they want the gore back, and Evil Dead Rise is going to fulfill the dreams of every horror fanatic, so if you’re one of them, you’re in for a treat! If you’re new to the franchise, we urge you to watch Evil Dead Rise along with the previous movies in the franchise because they are all classics and cornerstones in the horror genre. Let’s not waste too much of your time and tell you everything you need to know about Evil Dead Rise, from the plot to the cast and much more:

What Is The Plot of Evil Dead Rise?

Before we dive into the detailed plot of Evil Dead Rise, here is the official synopsis provided by Warner Bros Pictures, that summarises what you’re going to experience:

Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, Evil Dead Rise tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.

So, clearly, Evil Dead Rise is a family movie. We’re only kidding, we don’t recommend taking your kids to watch this movie, although there will be children in the movie, who will go through some very traumatic events when their mother is possessed by the worst possible entity imagined. Evil Dead Rise is the tale of two sisters, Ellie and Beth, but things go incredibly wrong when they meet after a long time, and now it’s upon Beth to save her niece and nephews, but will she succeed? We can’t really spoil this for you, because we don’t have the answer to that either, but considering just how unpleasant this storyline is going to be, we don’t believe that everyone will make it out alive.

The Cast of Evil Dead Rise

First things first, everyone is wondering whether or not Bruce Campbell will return to Evil Dead Rise, the bad news is that Campbell will not be reprising his role in the upcoming movie, as he retired his announcement as Ash in the franchise. However, he will still have some contribution in Evil Dead Rise behind the scenes, so that’s some compensation! Albeit, fans are still hoping for a little cameo, and anything is possible.

The role of two sisters who will be at the center of the movie will be played by Lily Sullivan and Alyssa Sutherland, who are both promising actresses, and by the looks of it, very committed to their roles in Evil Dead Rise. It will be a delight seeing the sisterhood turned into something evil, considering that’s the crux of the movie. Also joining the cast we have Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols, and Nell Fisher.

When and Where Can you Watch Evil Dead Rise?

The filming for Evil Dead Rise began in June of 2021, and the project wrapped up in less than six months. Since then, it has gone through post-production because when it comes to horror, that’s definitely an important part. Originally, Evil Dead Rise was set to stream on HBO Max, but the good news is that there has been a slight change in strategy, and now, Evil Dead Rise will be coming to theatres near you on the 21st of April, 2023. We wholeheartedly believe that Evil Dead Rise deserves the big screen treatment, just like any other horror movie out there, and we’re thrilled that everyone will be able to experience the chills and jump scares on the big screen. There has been no update on whether it will also release on HBO Max on the same day, but we have a feeling they might release it there at a later date.

Is There a Trailer for Evil Dead Rise?

The official trailer for Evil Dead Rise was released recently and if you thought you were ready for it, think again. There is a warning prior to the trailer, hinting at the fact that there will be a lot of gore and violence, and the trailer doesn’t disappoint. After a very long hiatus, fans weren’t sure about whether or not Evil Dead Rise would live up to the expectations, but as far as the trailer goes, things are looking good for the franchise and the creators. The trailer is backed up with the popular song que sera sera, and if that’s your favorite song, this trailer will alter any good memories you have attached to it. The trailer has also been uploaded in 4K with proper subtitles and fans have made sure to thank Warner Bros Pictures for that. We do recommend watching the trailer if you can stomach blood and an evil mother.

Conclusion

Evil Dead Rise has been one of the most highly anticipated movies because just like Avatar: The Way of Water, this movie is also coming to your screens after an incredibly long hiatus. It will be interesting to see how the movie fares at the box office, but we have a good feeling about it because as the years go by, more people are immersing themselves in the horror genre.
